During a meeting, the Board of Trustees of the Sharjah Economic Excellence Award announced that registration for the new 2018 edition of the Award starts in April. Economic establishments who wish to participate in the different categories of the Award will have until November to register.
The Board of Trustees of the Award also discussed raising the incentives and benefits that will be given to the recipients of the 2018 Award, in order to enhance the Award’s status and to raise awareness of the different categories of the Award among the business community in the UAE and the GCC countries. The Board also discussed increasing the number of awareness programs that aims to instill a culture of excellence into the private sector of the UAE and the GCC countries.
The meeting was attended by HE Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the SCCI and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sharjah Economic Excellence Award, HE Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, HE Waleed AbdelRahman BuKhatir, Second Vice Chairman of the SCCI, HE Khaled bin Butti Al Hajri, Director-General of the SCCI, and Mohammed Ahmed Amin, Assistant Director-General for the Communication and Business Sector at the SCCI, as well as a number of members of the Board of Trustees for the Award.
HE Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the SCCI and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sharjah Economic Excellence Award, expressed the Board’s thanks and appreciation to the efforts made by the partners, sponsors, evaluation teams, Award Judges and all those who contributed to the success of the previous editions of the Award. He added that these efforts have solidified the Award’s status in the region and has attracted wide interest from business community in the UAE and the GCC countries.
The Sharjah Economic Excellence Award 2017, which was organized by the SCCI in early February, honored 23 economic institutions and entrepreneurs from the UAE and the GCC countries. The winners were picked from more than 100 economic establishments that participated in the Award. The event also witnessed the launch of a new category within the Sharjah Economic Excellence Award, which is a category that covers economic institutions across the GCC. The new category falls under the name of “Sharjah Gulf Localization Award,” and was organized in partnership with the Federation of Chambers of the GCC.
