Dubai – UAE, Wednesday 23, 2018: Crowds of people flocked to the Dubai Chamber and Dubai Women’s Association on Tuesday night to listen to two lectures of the cultural programme of 22nd Dubai International Holy Quran Award (DIHQA).
The lectures saw the presence of H.E. Ibrahim Mohamed Bu Melha, Adviser to the Ruler of Dubai for Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs and Head of DIHQA Organising Committee, members of the organising committee, senior officials, and dignitaries.
Also present were the sponsors of the 6th night – Dubai Public Prosecution, Dubai Statistics Centre, Dubai Civil Defence Department, Dubai Aviation City Corporation, along with members of the Zukhr Social Club – one of the initiatives of the Community Development Authority in Dubai, and large audience.
Mohammed Hassan Abdulrahim, Senior Chief Prosecutor, Dubai Public Prosecution, expressed his admiration of the international position of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award.
“This is mainly due to the unlimited support of the His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.”
The Award has become a leading hub for Quran memorisers worldwide, he added. “The Dubai Public Prosecution is honoured to have been sponsoring the Award activities from the very beginning until the 22nd session which coincides with the 100th anniversary of the late Sheikh Zayed (RIP).”
It is so amazing to see this big number of memorisers from around the globe, he said. “Some foreign communities are participating in the award for the first time increasing the number of contestants to unprecedented 104 competitors this year.”
Wing Commander Hamad Mohammed Balsuwida Al Ameri, Director of the Civil Defence Centre in Al Barsha of the Dubai Civil Defence Department, said the award is showing an exceptional performance due to the tireless effort of the organizers.
“We have been proudly sponsoring the award since its beginning 22 years back,” he said, paying tributes to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for generously sponsoring the award.
Khalid bin Mohammed Al Balooshi, the In-charge of the Zukhr Social Club, said they are so keen to attend all the activities of the award. “The Dubai is one of the best global competitions that is generously supported by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.”
Dr. Sheikh Farhan bin Aziz Al Anzi, Director of the Dawa and Guidance Center in Dubai, said the Award has become a leading hub for Quran memorisers around the globe.
In his lecture, he said the universe has been blessed with the message of Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) who has been granted so many blessings by Almighty Allah. “Obeying and following the directives of the Prophet (PBUH) is our fast way to paradise.”
The house of the prophet was a role model in everything, he added. “He was a perfect model as a prophet, father, husband, and friend. He was so tolerant, kind, wise, and helpful to everybody.”
He used to assist his wives whenever possible, he pointed out. “He used to play with his children and grandchildren who sometimes mounted his back while praying, and he never let them down until they were done.”
Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) was so generous, easy, moderate, and passionate with all creatures, including a tree he used to stand on while preaching. “The tree wept when replaced with a podium until the Prophet (PBUH) patted on it.”
H.E. Ibrahim Mohamed Bu Melha, Adviser to the Ruler of Dubai for Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs and Head of DIHQA Organising Committee, later honoured the lecturer, members of the Zukhr club, the sponsors of the event, and the winners of raffle coupons.
Addressing the female audience at the Dubai Women’s Association, Sheikh Saad Al Ateeq, said that forgiveness is indispensable in all dealings, mainly between couples. “A husband or wife should remember good aspects and never be over controlled with anger or heated argument.”
Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) was so loyal to his wife Khadija even after her death. “The same loyalty has been adopted by his daughter Zainab who gave in a necklace her later mother gifted her to release her captured husband.”
The increasing rate of divorce cases is due to forgetting good parts of marital life, he warned. “A pious wife should be patient, tolerant, forgiving and compassionate, and this will help protect her family.”
“We should also show gratitude to our parents and remember what they have done with us; the more we are grateful to our parents, the more thankful our children will be to us.”
